National Sports Complex, Phnom Penh, Cambodia 2023 Vann Molyvann's design for the National Sports Complex, 1964, was significantly inspired by the ancient Khmer temple of Bakong. Bakong, one of the earliest temple mountains built during the Khmer Empire and a prototype for subsequent temple mountains, including Angkor Wat.
