After the fall of the Khmer Rouge in 1979 and the return of people back into the urban centers, a number of families moved in to make it their home. Even with the poor treatment and lack of upkeep, the building has retained its grandeur and presence. Walking around and inside it, you can still see the details that made it such an impressive structure.
