OCULUS
Oculus is a photographic series inspired by the architectural form of the Oculus, designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Located at the World Trade Center site in New York City, the Oculus rises as both a sculptural transit hub and a symbol of renewal, marking a place of collective memory with lightness, movement and grace.
Drawing from the building’s soaring, wing-like design, the series transforms its structural elements into symmetrical, mandala compositions. Through mirrored reflections and carefully arranged geometry, the photographs explore themes of balance, meditation and transformation. The resulting images invite contemplation, offering a visual space where architecture, memory and abstraction converge. Oculus explores the emotional and healing potential of architecture in the context of everyday city life.
